At Carina State School, reading is at the heart of everything we do—and our school library plays a central role in bringing that focus to life.
Our library is a vibrant, welcoming space filled with a wide range of engaging and high-quality texts, including picture books, novels, information texts, and digital resources. We are committed to maintaining a rich collection of up-to-date, curriculum-aligned materials that support both classroom learning and a love of reading.
All classes visit the library regularly to borrow books, enjoy shared reading experiences, and build essential literacy skills. We proudly support buddy reading across year levels, fostering a culture of reading for pleasure and connection across our school community.
The library is also home to our computer lab, regularly accessed by upper school students for research, digital learning, and collaborative projects. The recent addition of a 3D printer has added an exciting new dimension, allowing students to engage in creative problem-solving and design—an important step in preparing our learners for the opportunities of the 21st century.
At Carina, our library is more than just a place for books—it’s a hub of learning, creativity, and curiosity for all students.
Each year we host the Book Fair, which is always a big hit with our students.
