Music is an important part of life at Carina State School, enriching our students' learning and building confidence, creativity, and a strong sense of community.
All students participate in classroom music lessons with a specialist teacher, where they explore rhythm, melody, movement, and performance through singing, instruments, and creative activities.
From Year 4 to Year 6, students can join our Instrumental Music Program, with weekly lessons in brass, woodwind, and percussion. These students also take part in band rehearsals, and have the chance to perform at interschool music events, workshops, and special performances throughout the year.
Our school choir, open to students in Year 2 to Year 6, meets once a week and performs regularly at school assemblies, community events, and special celebrations. It’s a fantastic opportunity for students to develop their vocal skills, work as a team, and share the joy of music with others.
At Carina, we’re proud to offer a vibrant music program where every child can discover their talents and shine.
