Our Responsible Behaviour Plan outlines our system for facilitating positive behaviours, establishing and maintaining classroom expectations and procedures and recognising and responding to adherance to expectations and procedures. Shared expectations for student behaviour assist Carina State School to create and maintain a positive and productive learning and teaching environment, where all school community members have clear and consistent expectations and understandings of their role in the educational process.
Our school community has identified the following school expectations and values as a foundation for the promotion of high standards of responsible behaviour and attitude.
- Show respect
- Be responsible
- Be safe
These involve 3 key responsibilities for students:
- Manners matter
- Follow directions
- Be kind to others
Our school expectations have been agreed upon and endorsed by all staff and our school P&C. They are aligned with the values, principles and expected standards outlined in Education Queensland's Code of School Behaviour.
For Carina State School, every day is a day of action against bullying and violence.
The 'Carina 5' assists staff with supporting students in this area of resilience with 'skills for life'. Whilst working through the Carina 5, we insist that all incidents of bullying are reported to a teacher.
