Carina State School established in 1917, is situated on Creek Road in the suburb of Carina.
The buildings are mixture of old and new reflecting our long history.
Classrooms are air-conditioned and are a mixture of individual class and double learning spaces. They are all equipped with internet linked electronic whiteboards
The new library is well resourced and well used.
There is a school hall which is used for sport, assemblies, arts and more.
Specialist rooms are provided for music, computers, learning support and outside school hours care.
Our Prep program operates from a separate well equipped building where children play in a safe environment.
The grounds are large with extensive plantings of native trees and well maintained by the janitor/groundsman. There are two ovals, a multipurpose court, netball courts, ample grassed play areas and a wide variety of playground equipment throughout.
Enrolment is drawn primarily from adjacent suburbs.
Our current enrolment allows us to offer a small school experience where we know our students well in a well-resourced bigger school setting.
It is a multicultural student population with more than 50 nationalities represented. A number of these students access English as a Second Language (ESL) assistance.
The year 6 students from Carina State School make a successful transition to a large number of secondary schools, both state and private.
The students also participate in choir, band and inter-school sports.
