At Carina State School, we know that learning comes to life when students are immersed in real-world experiences. Our camps, excursions and incursions are carefully planned across all year levels to deepen understanding, spark curiosity and build connections to the curriculum.

Excursions and incursions vary at each year level and are designed to complement what students are learning in class. Whether it's a trip to the museum, a visit from a science expert, exploring local Indigenous culture, or participating in hands-on environmental education, these experiences are directly linked to the curriculum and enrich student learning in meaningful ways.

Our camp program is a highlight for our senior students:·
  • In Year 5, students travel to Tangalooma Island Resort for a sun-filled adventure packed with beach games, wildlife encounters, and outdoor exploration—building teamwork, confidence, and lasting memories.
  • In Year 6, students take part in a week-long tour of Canberra, visiting Parliament House, Questacon, the Australian War Memorial, and enjoying a snow day. This camp ties directly into their studies of civics, history, and science, and is a wonderful celebration of their final year in primary school.

From Prep to Year 6, our excursions, incursions, and camps support our students to explore, discover, and engage with the world around them—all while strengthening friendships and making learning unforgettable.
