Behaviour management

School wide positive behaviour

Carina State School is committed to becoming a school wide positive behaviour school where the focus is on developing skills, processes and programs that promote positive behaviour and learning for all students. Our firm belief is that behaviour and learning is the same thing and that if we can provide a positive learning environment then positive behaviour also results. We also believe that expecting the right behaviour is not enough and that it must be explicitly taught to students the right way to behave and learn.

We have six core values of school wide positive behaviours that all students, staff and parents adhere to. They are:

Respect

Show respect to yourself, others and their property.respect, responsible, safe, smiling, learning, striving image

Responsibility

Be responsible for your own actions and what you say and do and no-one else's.

Safety

Keep yourself safe and keep others safe.

Learning

The reason you come to school. Work not play, challenged everyday.

Striving

Work hard and do your personal best at all times.

Smiling

Have a positive attitude towards learning and behaviour, finding the joy.
