Carina State School established in 1917, is situated on Creek Road in the suburb of Carina.

The buildings are mixture of old and new reflecting our long history.

  • Classrooms are air-conditioned and are a mixture of individual class and double learning spaces. They are all equipped with internet linked electronic whiteboards
  • The new library is well resourced and well used.
  • There is a school hall which is used for sport, assemblies, arts and more.
  • Specialist rooms are provided for music, computers, learning support and outside school hours care.
  • Our Prep program operates from a separate well equipped building where children play in a safe environment.
  • The grounds are large with extensive plantings of native trees and well maintained by the janitor/groundsman. There are two ovals, a multipurpose court, netball courts, ample grassed play areas and a wide variety of playground equipment throughout.

Enrolment is drawn primarily from adjacent suburbs.

  • Our current enrolment of 370 allows us to offer a small school experience where we know our students well in a well-resourced bigger school setting.
  • It is a multicultural student population with more than 50 nationalities represented. A number of these students access English as a Second Language (ESL) assistance.
  • The year 6 students from Carina State School make a successful transition to a large number of secondary schools, both state and private.
  • The students also participate in choir, band and inter-school sports.
